Opening with the beautiful, beatless 'Hard Copy' Otik's Stoned Ghost EP for the always innovational Nous imprint, is a mesmerising journey into deep and dubby techno-infused sound exploration, eschewing the minimalism of said genres and instead making lavishly, luxuriant pieces of sweetly tuned electronic music that pinches and pulls from the very best of its history while striking out with a brilliant voice of its own.
Across these four tracks Otik take's his listeners from wide open plains of beguiling beauty, through enchanted breakbeat, filtered through the lens of the 2nd wave and back to the pulsating centre of the brain where all musical modulations meet. Above all the sounds created here while machine enhanced are viscerally human, indeed heartfelt.
